At Sukoon, we understand that grief can feel overwhelming. Our 6-week virtual Grief Support Group offers a compassionate space to share, learn coping strategies, and find connection amidst loss.
  • Duration: 6 weeks (virtual sessions)
  • Who can join: California residents
  • Cost: Insurance or $40 per session
  • Schedule: Insurance or $40 per session
  • Facilitator: Amber Ansari, ASW (under supervision of Sakeena Mirza)
A supportive space open to folks who feel alone, exhausted, unsupported or in need of community due to the current state of the country and the world. Facilitated by Palestinian-American therapist Deema Al-Omar.
  • Duration: 6 weeks (virtual sessions)
  • Who can join: Open to all US residents
  • When: Mondays at 5pm PST / 8pm EST OR Saturdays at 9am PST / 12pm EST
  • Schedule: Starting September 22nd/27th, 55 min groups
  • Pricing: 3 sliding scale options available
  • $420 / $70 per session
  • $300 / $50 per session
  • Facilitator: Palestinian-American therapist Deema Al-Omar
This group is for folks who struggle with things like planning, organizing, starting and finishing tasks, or keeping up with daily life - and who are tired of beating themselves up for it.
  • Duration: 8 weeks, Sessions 1x/week for 55min
  • Who can join: Open to all US residents
  • When: Wednesdays @ 5PM PST / 8PM EST OR Fridays @ 9AM PST / 12PM EST
  • Schedule: Starting Sept. 24th/Sept. 26th
  • Pricing: $50/session

Frequently Asked Questions

 A typical individual therapy session lasts 45–50 minutes. The exact time may vary depending on the type of therapy you are receiving.

During your initial meeting, you and your therapist will decide on the frequency of sessions. Typically, sessions start once per week and may increase or decrease based on your needs.

 Some of our therapists are in-network with select insurance companies, including:

  • Anthem Blue Cross
  • Blue Shield of California
  • UCSHIP
  • Medicare
  • UnitedHealthcare/Optum

If your therapist is not in-network, we can provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to confirm your benefits.

If you are not using insurance, private fees range from $150 to $250. Sliding scale options are available with some of our practitioners.

For therapeutic services, we can work with clients throughout the state of California via telehealth. We have also have some availability for in-person sessions at our Torrance, CA office. For online general support or skills groups and classes, attendees can be from various locations -- look for details in group/class announcements. 

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the expected cost of your medical care if you don’t have insurance or are not using insurance.

  • Providers must give you a written estimate at least 1 business day before your scheduled service.

  • This estimate should include related costs such as medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • You may request a Good Faith Estimate from any provider before scheduling services.

  • If your bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute the bill.
